Digitally manipulated drawings are transferred to zinc metal, rolled with light sensitive emulsion, then exposed using an Ultra Violet light box. Plates are then etched in acid or aquatinted to give a more developed tonal range. Each print is unique (one of a kind) comprising several different inked plates printed onto 300 gram hand made Somerset paper, plates are re-cycled and combined over time so that new connections emerge between diverse imagery from eclectic sources.
The prints include recycled stills taken from a TV documentary video ‘Five ways to save the World’. Featuring bizarre scientific inventions designed to combat global warming, including Cloud Seeders generating artificial clouds to protect the earth from the suns rays. Addional visuals and text are taken from a newspaper article about a zip factory in China.
